This post will be updated throughout the Pride season as new events, articles, etc. are published. Maintaining a single article page per Pride season helps us to let you know everything that we are doing while keeping posts about our casework easily accessible in the Articles archive.

1 June:

On Sunday, June 1st, to coincide with the beginning of Pride month, an article about the Trans Doe Task Force ran on the front page of The Republican (Springfield, MA), as well as being published digitally on MassLive. (The same article is available to read without a subscription here, republished via Yahoo News). While we do work nationally and internationally, we were glad to be interviewed by a journalist who is local to our headquarters here in Western Massachusetts!

5 June:

A guest lecture from the Trans Doe Task Force, We Will Look for You: Investigating LGBTQ Cold Cases was presented both in person and via Zoom on June 5 at 12:15-1:30 PM EDT. We discussed the alarming statistics of the rate of fatal violence of LGBTQIA+ people and what people can do to help get our cases solved. Thank you to the Springfield Museums!

7 June:

We weren't able to participate in Franklin County Pride this year, but Greenfield Garden Cinema hosted the Come Again Players for a shadow cast performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show to benefit Franklin County Pride and we were able to attend.  Fun fact: Dr. Redgrave was a member of the Come Again Players in 2006-2007! Thanks again to Greenfield Garden Cinema for letting us put out Trans Doe Task Force flyers as they have in previous years.

14 June:

Trans Doe Task Force was excited to be included in the Boston Pride for the People parade on Saturday, June 14! There was a big turnout in spite of the rain, and we were right near the start of the parade lineup - only the sixth out of over 300 groups! - just behind Trans Memorial, which was very fitting. The parade also coincided with the No Kings rally, so both events  together became "No Kings, but Yaaas Queen!" We had a great day, and we (including our dog, Lucky, who thought the parade was for him) appreciated all the waves and cheers from the crowd.  If anyone attended and took pictures, please send them to us.

19 June (Juneteenth):

On June 19th, 2024, we announced that individual donations made between this date and the end of the month would be designated for Black LGBTQ+ victims. We later extended this, and then in January of 2025 we announced that all individual donations received during the 2025 calendar year would be set aside for cases involving BIPOC Trans women. This year, we would like to reiterate our commitment to prioritize cases of Black Trans women especially, and we welcome donations towards this for the month of June and beyond.

20 June to 23 June:

The Golden Shrimp Guild, a collective of diverse musicians who organize virtual events via Twitch, had their yearly Pride event, Rainbow Roll. Streamers participating in this event raised money for organizations that serve the LGBTQIA+ community, and Trans Doe Task Force was one of them.

23 June:

The documentary to which we contributed research, I'm Your Venus, about the life and unsolved murder of Venus Xtravaganza, is now on Netflix. Thank you again to the production team, investigators and family for giving us the opportunity to assist!

23 June to 30 June

Threadless is having a summer sale from June 23 to 30, which means everything in the Trans Doe Task Force shop will be discounted! All regular T shirts will be $14, and the far superior Extra Soft shirts will be $16.  Everything else will be up to 35% off.  If there's something you've had your eye on, or you need to replace something that you've worn out, now would be a great time.  All profits from the Trans Doe Task Force Threadless shop go to our organization's continued upkeep.

 13 July:

Broken Cycle Media presents a launch party for the new podcast Credible Threat featuring our dear friend and colleague, Lenora Claire, and Dr. Kris Mohandie. Funds raised at the event will benefit Trans Doe Task Force (thank you!) and Tending the Garden. Look for an upcoming episode featuring an interview with TDTF!

19 July

Trans Doe Task Force will have a table at the 2025 Trans Resistance MA Festival at Harambee Park in Boston from 12 PM to 5 PM. Trans Resistance MA advocates for the safety, joy, and liberations of QTBIPOC folk. Come see us there, ask questions, and of course show your support to all the other groups there!
