Today is National Missing Persons Day in the United States. It's a day to raise awareness of the thousands of missing persons cases that go unsolved every year as well as long term missing persons cases that remain unsolved.

Over the past 2 years, the Trans Doe Task Force's LAMMP admin and volunteers have tracked and assisted with more than 1500 missing LGBTQ+ persons cases in more than 15 countries. This includes many of our most vulnerable community members, and LGBTQ+ people who are not listed as missing anywhere else.

We’ve also created an additional resource with our “If I go missing” project, for LGBTQ+ people who are concerned that they may go missing and not have their identities respected, or not be looked for to enter their information into our secure database, which is run exclusively by Trans people for our community.

It is our sincerest hope that our continuing efforts will result in the people included in LAMMP being found quickly and safely, and if that is not possible that they will be located and treated with dignity.
